Session Violinist
Lara is a classically trained violinist but now specialises in popular and commerical music. She studied at Paul McCartney’s music college ‘Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts’ and has gone on to work as a session player/arranger for some of the biggest names in the music industry, including; Kygo (at the Capital Jingle Bell Ball & part of his World Tour at the O2 Arena), Nile Rodgers (for 80’s Symphonic, recorded in Abbey Road Studios), 90’s pop sensation B*Witched (on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show), The Wombats for their Amazon Live Sessions and many more. She recently performed with Storm Strings’ 8-piece orchestra at Tottenham Hotspur’s Stadium for Chris Eubank Jr’s Ringwalk.
More notable artists Lara has worked with on stage and in the studio include; Olly Murs, Rudimental, Jalen Ngonda, Rianne Downey, China Crisis, Strawberry Guy, Bill Ryder-Jones, The Christians, Banners, Rob Vincent, ZUZU, BC Camplight, Ian Prowse & Amsterdam, The Orielles, Kay Young, Lucy Thomas (The Voice), Ray Quinn (X Factor), Richard & Adam (Britain’s Got Talent) and many more.
As a freelance violinist Lara also performs regularly in function and tribute bands including; The ELO Show, Shania & Friends, Symphonic Ibiza, The Infinity Orchestra and more. Lara performs with Global String Productions and recently appeared as a guest entertainer on P&O Aurora and Arcadia, she has also performed on the Carnival Conquest in the Caribbean. She was also a dep violinist on the Bill Kenright Productions 2024/2025 UK Tour of ‘Ghost the Musical’.
Wedding/Events Violinist
As well as working with pop artists, Lara is a highly experienced wedding and events violinist. She has performed at destination weddings and events including; Dubai (with The Edge Band), Sweden (with Bollywood Strings), Lithuania (with Jam Hot Show Band) and Lake Como (Global Strings). Lara is available to book directly as a solo acoustic or electric violinist, or part of a trio or quartet, offering extensive set-lists including everything from modern pop hits to golden oldies, jazz favourites, film themes, musical medleys and everything in between! She offers acoustic & LED electric violin and bespoke arrangements.
